Partnered Thai Massage | Oct 13th

Partnered Thai Massage | Oct 13th

Join Marta Dwaihy LMT, for a special partner Thai Massage workshop for beginners. This class is not intended to be exclusive for romantic partners. Bring a partner, friend, or family member! Each partner will give AND receive a 30 minute massage sequence that they can learn and take home to practice on family and friends.  Thai Massage is a practice done on the floor. Participants need to be able to kneel/lunge comfortably on the floor for at least 30 minutes.

October 13th from 2-4pm at Bloodroot Herb Shop in the basement class room (accessible by stairs only). We will have a HEPA filter running. Masks are welcomed but not required.

This class is offered on a sliding scale of $60-$80 per couple. Please email "marta.dwaihy@gmail.com" to reserve your spot. Space is very limited! No refunds for cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice.

WHAT TO BRING/EXPECT:

  • A partner!
  • Each person should bring a yoga/exercise mat topped with a thick blanket/sleeping bag/comforter. Combined with your partner's set up, it should create a comfortable surface consisting of two mats side by side as the base and topped with two thick blankets. If you have sensitive knees, it can also be nice to have an extra cushion to kneel on like a garden knee pad or folded yoga blanket.
  • Thai massage is done fully clothed. Come wearing comfortable loose fitting clothing. Tight sport leggings are not ideal because they're slippery and don't allow for optimal traction during compressions. Come with clean feet or a fresh pair of socks.
  • Water bottle and snack can always be a good idea too!
About the facilitator:
Marta is a licensed massage therapist and biodynamic craniosacral therapist with over ten years experience. She has studied yoga and bodywork in the US, Thailand, and India. She lives with her partner and two kids on their urban homestead in Ypsilanti, MI. Thai massage remains one of her favorite forms of bodywork because of how accessible it is to learn and practice. She’s excited to offer this to the community as a more accessible way to receive bodywork.
