Claiming Eachother- Somatic First Aid Class January 11th 11am-1pm

January 11th 11am-1pm

Claiming Each Other (CEO) is a Somatic First-Response Training for our everyday relationships. It is for anyone who feels called to be a more healing presence by offering more skillful response-ability when confronted with intensity, crisis, complexity & trauma. Our model of somatic first-aid builds on established models of Psychological First Aid (PFA) by integrating somatic trauma healing, indigenous wisdom and embodied practice.  Where PFA prepares people to respond after community scale natural disasters in order to mitigate the onset of trauma and PTSD, CEO acknowledges that most people are more likely to be exposed to 'domestic scale' crises in our everyday relationships and so prepares people to better respond there.

CEO intends to support people to be a healing presence for spouses, partners, friends, family, children, neighbors, colleagues and strangers when confronted with a great many relational challenges or difficult conflict patterns. However, we are particularly devoted to supporting people when confronted with challenges related to:

  • War & Colonization
  • Politics
  • Sex and Gender Race and Culture
  • Illness, Pain and Disability
  • Grief and Death
  • Trauma
  • Separation & Divorce
  • Depression
  • Chronic stress
The full, 60-hour, accredited training is given over 12 week with the next online and in-person cohorts beginning on January 20, 2025. With this 2-hr introductory workshop, you will  be introduced to CEO's model of Somatic First-Aid, our foundational theories and some initial embodiment practices to reduce the potential of harm to yourself and others. We look forward to welcoming you to Bloodroot Herb Shop and invite you to register here!
